Supermarkets are eliminating those confusing use-by dates

Use-by, sell-by, best-by, best-before... the list of dates printing on food items goes on and on.

Each one is more confusing than the last and leads to a massive amount of food waste.

But the major supermarket chain Morrisons is eliminated use-by dates on most of their milk jugs and telling people to use the smell test instead: take a whiff and if it's sour, it's gone bad.
